Namak Mirch Masala Game is a hand slap game also known as Noon Mirach Masala game in Punjab and Haryana. This game either played separately or sometimes played with other games like Chidiya udd. It is also called a punishment game which is played when a player loses the game.

Suppose if you are playing Kancha game like Pill Chot and in this if you lose or unable to complete 10 to 100 count then as a punishment you now have to play Namak Mirch Masala Game. Similarly, if you raise your finger for non-flying object or creature in Chidiya udd game, then the players will play Slap hand.

You can even toss and play the game separately. But generally it is played as punishment game and trust me guys it is quite fun-loving and entertaining.

Now let’s see how the game of Namak Mirch Masala is played?

Well, in Namak Mirch Masala game, there can be more than one slapper and only one defender. In short, if there are 5 players then 1 (the loser) would be defender and rest of the players (the winners) would be slapper.

  • Defender: The defender will have to defend when slapper try to slap hand either by moving hands position up / down or backward.
  • Slapper: Slapper play tricks and try to slap the hand of defender. The slapper has to be quick to slap hand of the defender before he/she moves away.

As you aware now its time to begin the game of Namak Mirch Masala…

Both slapper and defender should face each other. And once they are in a comfortable position… the defender has to join hands in a namaste pose and keep it horizontal – this means the tip of the namaste shape should be facing the slapper’s chest or face as show in the image below.

Now from here, the slapper chants recipe ingredients like – Namak, Mirch, Masala, Haldi, Potato, Beans, etc. The defender hand is like a cooker and slapper is filling it with ingredients (just the imaginary way) that are mainly cooking items need to cook a yummy a delicious meal.

These words of content are meant to distract the defender. The aim of the sleeper is to slap the defender’s hand and he must succeed in doing so. Once this chanting process has begun, the slapper has to rapidly slap the Namaste Shape of Defender with the palm. If the slapper is successful, he will repeat this over and over until the defender defends himself. But if fails, the turn of over and fun part ends here as loser got saved!

On the other hand, the defender’s aim is to keep a close eye on the slapper’s hand movements, as the slapper can slap in the blink of an eye. If defender fails to defend the attack, then slapper will repeat same process again and it will only end when defender defends himself. To defend, the defender can move his hands up, down or backwards. This movement must be fast because the slapper is also fast.

Based on the age, you can change some rules of Namak Mirch Masala game like if you lose a game, then slapper can only slap for 1 time. Means, the slapper will get only 1 chance to slap the defender hand… if he succeeds or fails the term will end and now the other player as a slapper get chance.

Here’s a video that i got on youtube and you can see how it is played…

You can also modify the game like winner will get 5 chances to slap hand… but if slapper misses any chance then the number of missed chances will be passed to defender who will then become slapper. Means out of 5, if 2 chances are missed then now these 2 chances will be credited to defender. Now defender will be a slapper and slap other player (previously he was a slapper, but now he is defender).  And here same rules will apply… in case of miss, the other player will get chance to slap.

Apart from that, the intensity of slap should be light or in fun way as it is the game just for entertainment.

This is how the game of Namak Mirch Masala is played and you can have fun with kids or friends or family members.  This makes the game more interesting and thrilling and people love it and play it with their children in free time during holidays, or in weekend at home in day or night!
