Importance of poles and central line
While playing Kho Kho Game, Two wooden poles or “poles” are installed on both sides of the Kho-Kho ground. The distance between these poles is 20 meters while the pole to pole distance in Senior & Junior category is 24 meters. Both these poles are the main points of the game for the players. For under 14 players, the height of these poles is about 1.2 meters, so that it is suitable according to their height.
The central line divides the Kho-Kho ground in 2 parts of 7 meters each (14/2). This clearly separates the two halves of the court, where the chasing and defending teams operate. Apart from that, this central line is 30 meters thick and it is divided into 9 parts as shown in the image above.
8 players sit at the intersection points facing opposite directions (if one is facing south, the other player must sit facing north) and the 9th player will be in the court to chase the opposing team players.
