Pakistan eliminated from t20 world cup 2026

Is Pakistan out of T20 World Cup 2026?

Pakistan is in group 2 of super 8 (t20 world cup 2026 ) and the results of the two matches played so far have also come. First match Pakistan vs New Zealand washed out due to rain, and in the second match Pak vs Eng – England won by 2 wickets. England qualified for Semi-Final but still a big question on Pakistan presence – is the Cricket team of Pakistan out of T20 World cup 2026 or still in the game? Let’s find answers!

Well, the game of Cricket is quite unpredictable. At this point of time, no one can accurately predict whether the Pakistan team will be IN or OUT. The reason is quite simple  – 1 match still yet to be played. Even if New Zealand wins today’s match (Nz vs Sl – Super 8 Match 46 of 55), still Pakistan will be in WC! When all matches of super 8 Group 2 will be played, only then (based on the Net run rate) it will be confirmed which one is 2nd team (NZ or PAK or SL).

England 100% qualified for Semifinal for t20 WC, thanks to Brook’s Century against Pakistan in Super 8 , but who will be second team from Group 2… it is still a big mystery. For now any team (NZ or PAK or SL) can qualify for Semi-final, and here is our analysis with facts and points…

Currently New Zealand and Pakistan have 1 point, Sri lanka has 0…

  • New Zealand vs Sri Lanka – It looks like New Zealand might win the game, and here their points would be 3.
  • New Zealand vs England – England is quite confident (no pressure), so England might win and New Zealand will have only 3 points.
  • Next, Pakistan vs Sri Lanka – Pakistan is quite strong here, and if they somehow beat Sri Lanka by a big margin, then Pakistan will also get 3 points.

Note: Now the catch is… because NZ and Pak both have 3 points in the points table, the final qualification may be decided on the basis of Net Run Rate (NRR). Pakistan might quality for t20 World cup Semi-final. Though it is tough (chances of New Zealand is too high) but it is possible.

This is another scenario that shared by sports writer named Probuddha Bhattacharjee on Hindustan times: The cleanest route is simple. New Zealand must lose both their remaining games. If Sri Lanka defeat New Zealand on 25 February and England then beat New Zealand on 27 February, New Zealand will stay on one point. Pakistan beating Sri Lanka would then lift them to three points and give them the second semi-final berth from the group behind England.

As per the past history or what experts have shared on social media platforms –   England and New Zealand will qualify for Semi-final from Group 2, while South Africa and West Indies will be from Group 1. Experts believe India’s road to Semi-finals is bit tough as their net run rate is poor!

Super 8 made this t20 World cup very interesting. It would be very interesting to see who will qualify for semi finals. So guys stay tuned with us and don’t forget to share your opinion the comments below!
