India played the Semifinal match with England. Earlier speculations were that England is in strong position and easily qualify for T20 World cup final. But on March 5, the result was completely different. India won the semifinal by 7 runs and qualified for the final which will be played on March 8 with New Zealand.
India beat England in Semi final 2 (T20 WC 2026)
The semifinal 1 was played between South Africa and New Zealand and New Zealand won the game. Now all eye on Semi-final 2 which was between India and England. England was quite confident and strong as this team was unbeatable in Super 8… while on other hand team India was struggling a lot in batting and bowling. Experts predicted that the final will be played between New Zealand and England. But the result shocked everyone!
India came to bat first, the ground of Mumbai Wankhede was packed with audience and even celebrities like MS Dhoni, Sakshi Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Anil Kapoor, Ranbeer Kapoor, KL Rahul, Anita Ambani, were there to cheer up team India. Though the starting was not good, India lost 1st wicket of Abhishek Sharma at 20/1… but later Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan made a brilliant partnership of 97 runs made 117 in just 9.2 overs. Later Ishan Kishan gets out at 117/2 and Shivam Dube takes the position and from here it was like no body can stop India. Batters played well and finally team India managed to but a big score of 253/7 on the scoreboard.
Once again Sanju Samson played well and made 89 off 42 balls. Apart from that Shivam Dube scored 43 off 25 balls and Ishan Kishan 39 in just 18 balls.
The score of 253 was too big, India was in good position and it was like England won’t chase it. But a twist happened… England tried hard to chase this target. From England side… Jacob Bethell, Will Jacks, Jos Buttler played very well. Jacob Bethell scored 105 runs off 48 balls and stood at the other end till the last over.
It was not a one sided match which many fans experienced in Semfinal 1. In starting it was like India will win the game by a big margin, but England fought well and India won by 7 runs. Batters of England were in good form and made 246 runs in 20 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah bowled very well, keeping the England batsmen restricted from scoring a big total. On other hand Hardik Pandya also managed to take 2 wickets and we can’t ignore the performance of Axar Patel. Axar Patel delivered a marvelous performance in this match and took 2 catches (approx 3 catches)!
Now India is in Final and the final match of T20 World cup will be played between India and New Zealand on 8 March, 2026 in Ahmadabad at 7:00 PM IST!
India vs New Zealand Final T20 World Cup
Team India and New Zealand have qualified for the finals. As per experts, team India is bit weak as compared to New Zealand. The batting department is fit and fine… but there is a big question mark on bowling. Team India’s bowlers are unable to take back to back wickets, only Jasprit Bumrah’s performance is consistent, Varun Chakravarthy magic is gone (seems batters easily pick his ball), Arshdeep is expensive, and Hardik Pandya is 50:50.
On other hand New Zealand is quite balanced team. The openers are in form… they are quite confident and capable to release pressure easily. The top and middle order have also performed very well in recent matches and even if they fail… the tail order is also capable to hit big boundaries. In the bowling side, the bowling of New Zealand team is bit better (30% more efficient bowlers) than India and here this team takes more points on paper.
If India wants to win the final of t20 World cup 2026, they have to think regarding the bowling. Experts suggest that Kuldeep Yadav should be brought in place of Varun Chakraborty and Mohammed Siraj in place of Arshdeep.
