First time the Kho Kho World Cup is organized and India is hosting it in Delhi from January 13 to 19, 2025. India has invited more than 40 countries around the world to participate in this sports tournament. Out of these, 24 countries from 6 continents have accepted the invitation and shown their interest to participate in Kho Kho World Cup 2025. The tournament will be played in both Men’s and Women’s categories and KKFI is all set to welcome everyone.
Earlier, the opening match of the Kho-Kho World Cup was scheduled to be played between India and Pakistan, but now its scheduled to be played between India and Nepal. In December 2024, the organizers had confirmed that Inaugural Kho Kho World Cup to feature India vs Pakistan in opening match, with 24 countries participating. But now a big twist came as Pakistan refused to play in the first ever World Cup of Kho Kho game.
The match between India and Pakistan in the Kho Kho World Cup is scheduled to be played on 13 January 2025, but now India will face Nepal. So on January 13, instead of India vs Pakistan (Men) / India vs Pakistan (Women), there will be India vs Nepal (Men) / India vs Nepal (Women) match.
Pakistan withdrew its name from the Kho-Kho World Cup because India refused to play the Cricket Championship Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. So in response, now Pakistan has refused to play the Kho-Kho World Cup 2025. However some other sources claim that it is likely due to political tensions and security concerns between India and Pakistan.
