The list of world championship of legends teams is finally here. As confirmed by the WCL officials, 6 champion teams have signed up to participate in legends league t20 cricket and there name are – India, South Africa, Pakistan, England, Australia, and West Indies.
In season 1 of WCL T20 cricket, the 6 champion teams participated and India won the title. Now once again, in the world championship of legend Season 2, same teams have confirmed their participation and they will play the WCL 2025 in England at 4 venues, starting from 18th July. Legendary players like Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh strengthened the team. Ambati Rayudu‘s explosive innings of 50 runs in the final was special. The biggest strength of this team is its powerful batting lineup, all-rounders, and skilled bowlers who have the ability to turn any match around.
Pakistan Champions
The Pakistan Champions were captained by Younis Khan in 2024, although Shahid Afridi has also been a prominent face of this team. Experienced players like Shoaib Malik, Misbah-ul-Haq, Abdul Razzaq, Wahab Riaz, Kamran Akmal and Sohail Tanvir strengthened the team. Despite setting a target of 156 runs in front of India in the final, they lost the match, but their aggressive batting and fast bowling impressed everyone. The specialty of the Pakistani team is their never-say-die spirit, which can make a comeback in any match and they might win the season 2 title.
Australia Champions
The Australia Champions are captained by fast bowler Brett Lee. Players like Aaron Finch, Shaun Marsh, Ben Dunk, Dan Christian and Brad Haddin strengthened the team in 2024. Despite losing to India by 86 runs in the semi-finals, their openers’ explosive knocks and the strength of their fast bowling remained their biggest strength.
England Champions
The England Champions team includes players like Ian Bell, Kevin Pietersen, Owais Shah, Ravi Bopara and Samit Patel. They could not make it past the league stage in 2024, but their technical batting and experienced spin bowling showed strength in many matches. The England team’s strategy often suits their home pitches and it looks like they might find a spot among the top 4 teams in the second edition of the WCL!
West Indies Champions
The West Indies team includes players like Chris Gayle, Dwayne Smith, Darren Sammy and Fidel Edwards. They could not make it to the semi-finals in 2024, but their lightning-fast batting entertained the audience. The biggest strength of this team is their carefree and aggressive play, which reflects the true spirit of T20 cricket. West Indies champions team is quite good in T20 format and this year they can make place in Semi-Finals!
South Africa Champions
The South African team is coached by Allan Donald, and the captaincy could be in the hands of Jacques Kallis or another legend. Players like Herschelle Gibbs, Ashwell Prince, Neil McKenzie and Imran Tahir performed well in 2024, although they could not reach the knockouts.
