15 players squad of Team India for Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 (ODI) has been announced by BCCI. Rohit Sharma once again will lead the team on ground as Captain, Shubman Gill as the Vice Captain and KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant are preferred as wicket-keepers over Sanju Samson for the 15-man squad.
In the bowling department, Good news Mohammed Shami will play the Champions Trophy 2025. Shami selected by the BCCI selectors, while Mohammed Siraj OUT! Indian 15-man squad looks quite balanced, packed with 6 professional batsmen including 2 wicket keepers, 4 All Rounders, and 4 bowlers (2 Professional spinner and 3 Fast bowlers). It is quite surprising that BCCI did not select Mohammed Siraj and Sanju Samson. Experts believed that Sanju Samson would get a chance in place of KL Rahul for the Champions Trophy 2025 while Mohammed Shami would continue in his role, but Arshdeep Singh was given a chance in place of Siraj.
Now if we look at the current 15-man Indian squad for upcoming ODI Champions Trophy, this selection is not that bad. It looks fair and if Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli play well by maintaining good strike rate in upcoming 50 over game, then like the T20I world cup 2024, India might win the Champions Trophy 2025 title by defeating top contender.
