Apart from that, the real “X-factor” for me are Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. They are the deadly openers and quite capable to give big opening to team and hence they can qualify for playoff. Apart from that what we have observed, this year Rajasthan Royal has a clear mindset… it is fight till last and don’t give up!
3. Punjab Kings (PBKS)
This one is a surprise pick and why we have included it in the top 4 teams… there are 2-3 reasons. So let me tell you about each one by one below:
- Punjab Kings is quite desperate to win the IPL title for first time. Last year, the team was in Final but unfortunate the title won by RCB. So here the team is all set with one goal – this is our year and and we are going to make it our own!
- Like Rajasthan Royals, PBKS is also a well balanced team – the top order, middle, and tail order is quite capable to set and chase big score easily. The bowling lineup is also decent and we would say it is quite better than other teams like KKR, DC, CSK, LSG, GT.
- Last very nominal changes in this team as compared to last one… so Shreyas Iyer knows when, what, and how—what exactly needs to be done.
4. Mumbai Indians (MI)
This is a tough call between DC and MI, but we are going with the Mumbai Indians. The reason why we put MI in top 4 in IPL 2026 is the past history. MI is a very strong and one of the most dangerous teams of IPL as there top to bottom lineup is packed with experienced international players who are the world cup winners. However, this team always struggles in the early stages, but later on, they start winning matches; and this happens with this team every year.
Last year it was like once again MI will fail to qualify for Playoff… but later MI performed very well and was in top 4 and later played Eliminator round and Qualifier round. So this year again… MI is failing but it will recover soon and will be in top 4 and quite capable to win the title for 6th time!
As per experts like Kevin Pietersen, Faf du Plessis, Irfan Pathan, Abhinav Mukund, Harbhajan Singh, and R Ashwin, they have placed Mumbai Indians at #3 in the IPL 2026 points table!
