Note: This is phase 1 schedule for IPL 2026 till April 12. The next phase of remaining 54 matches i.e phase 2 schedule of IPL till 31 May will be released soon. As per Cricbuzz, the delay is due to the 2026 State Assembly Elections in several key states and also there are some security reasons, hence venue details not yet announced.
Like the previous season (IPL 18), there are same 10 teams ( RCB, MI, CSK, DC, PBKS,GT, LSG, KKR, RR, SRH) in IPL 19, and same 74 matches (70 league + 4 playoffs) will be played. Earlier speculations were that instead of 74, 84 matches will be played. But recent reports (TV9, Cricbuzz) reveal that due to state assembly elections, the idea to expand the tournament now dropped and BCCI decided to go with last year plan – 10 teams and 74 matches. The first match of IPL 2026 is scheduled to play between RCB vs SRH on 28 march at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and final will be played between top 2 teams on 31 May.
RCB won their first maiden title in IPL 2025. In the final match RCB Vs PBKS of season 18, RCB defeated Punjab Kings and lift the trophy… but this year it looks like either MI or PBKS could win it. Many cricket experts have predicted that this time Mumbai Indians is a solid contender as their most of players like Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Tilak Varma, Quinton de Kock and Will Jacks are in form.
This year’s IPL would be historic as we might be witnessing the final chapter of MS Dhoni’s legendary journey behind the stumps and at the crease. And the same craze for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as they are going to play T20 after a long time. Fans want to see these faces on ground on TV!
